The Strain Checker FGMH is a conventional F series foil gage whose face is covered with a grit material so that when a normal pressure is applied on the gage, the friction between gage and test piece surface transmits the strain into the sensing element. The normal pressure is exerted by a magnetic gage holder. Both single axis (FGMH-1B and FGMH-2A) and 3-axis rosette (FGMH-3A) gages are available. These units are all full bridge devices, with completion resistors embedded in the cables. They have a temperature operating range of 0 to +60 ˚C. The -1B has a 6mm long sensing element while the -2A and -3A gages are 3mm. These gages have a strain limit of 2,000 µε.
