KM Series - Concrete
The KM series is an embedment gage for concrete and similar materials that transition from  a compliant to hardened state. They are actually strain transducers built with conventional foil strain gages inside a protective tube between the circular discs at each end and the   strain they report is based on the change in distance between the discs (the distance "A" in the figure below). Unlike our other embedment gages, the KM can report strain from the very early stages of curing due to its very low axial stiffness.  They are completely waterproof and provide excellent stability for long term strain measurement.  With the exception of two models, all have simultaneous temperature measurement, either relative or absolute (depending upon model).  Gages come with calibration data for correction of readings due to temperature change.  All models have a capacity (both tension and compression) of 5,000 µε.
